Privacy Policy

How NY Property Peek handles your data.

NY Property Peek is a public map of New York State tax parcel records. There are no accounts, no sign-in and no newsletter, and the site does not ask you for your name, email address or any other personal detail. This page describes the data that does move around when you use it.

What the site collects

Beyond what is needed to draw the map and answer the property lookups you ask for, this site does not collect or store personal information. In practice that means:

Advertising

This site shows ads through Google AdSense to help cover hosting costs. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time in Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. Opting out does not remove ads — it means the ones you see are no longer personalized.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California, you may see a consent prompt the first time you visit, controlling whether ads are personalized. That prompt is provided through Google's own consent tools, and your choice is recorded and honored by Google, not by this site.

Third-party services

Displaying the map necessarily involves a few outside services, each of which receives the requests your browser makes to it:

Each of these operates under its own privacy policy, which governs what it does with the requests it receives.

Property data and privacy

The property records shown on this site come from New York State's published GIS tax parcel data, assembled from what county assessors file. That information is public record, published by the state, and shown here as published. This site does not add owner names, contact details or any other personal information to it, and it is not a source of information about people — see the about page for what the fields do and don't contain. If you believe a record about a property is wrong, the correction has to come from the county assessor who filed it; changes there flow into the state dataset and then here.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
